How Do You Unwind?

My Monday Musing…

Wow! It’s been a while since my last post…the reason is what leads to today’s “musing”. I’m definitely not singing a new song here, but our household has been so busy lately, it seems there’s hardly time to breathe. (I know, welcome to all of your lives, right)? I have even led a conference on Balance in a Christian woman’s life and have really worked on this area the last year or so, but I am reminded it is truly a journey, not a destination (and that I’m not the only one in my house that needs to learn to relax). I am convicted that I need to finally finish two books I started to read, but never completely finished: Be Still: Finding the Quiet and Security of God’s Presence, by Elizabeth M. Hoekstra; and Breathe: Creating Space for God in a Hectic Life, by Keri Wyatt Kent. Both can be found at Perfect Peace stores or on Amazon.com:

Activity on the blog has been a little slow (and we still haven’t convinced most of you to leave comments)…so, what I want to know is…

What is your favorite place/way to slow down, unwind, and find some quiet?

Just comment on this post to share.  I’ll start: In my fantasy life I would be next to the fireplace in my log cabin (next to a mountain lake) with a cup of hot tea and a blanket. In my real life there would definitely be a hot beverage (coffee or tea) and a blanket, maybe some very soft music in the background and lots of candles. Or, maybe on my porch if it’s not too windy.

Tag, you’re it!!

Have a blessed week!

I’ve actually got one favorite way to slow down and one favorite place to find some quiet.

The first is to take a long soaking bubble bath by candlelight with soft music playing. I’ve got one of those bath tub pillows so I just rest my head on that, close my eyes, and enjoy the music.

I also enjoy going to Barnes and Noble. I get a skinny Grande Latte in a mug (it just tastes better that way), grab one of the oversized chairs, and enjoy whatever book I’m currently reading.
